The excitement for cricket fans is building as Pakistan gears up to host the ODI Tri-Series 2025, featuring New Zealand and South Africa. With the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 around the corner, this series serves as an essential preparatory event for all three teams. However, the series will take place amidst tight security due to planned protests by Imran Khan’s party, PTI, on February 8.
Given the ongoing political situation in Pakistan, the Federal Interior Ministry has approved the deployment of Pakistan Army and Rangers personnel for foolproof security. The protests planned by PTI on February 8 coincide with the series' opening match at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore. In addition to army and rangers, Punjab police personnel will also be deployed to ensure the safety of players and spectators. Authorities have reiterated that there will be no compromise on security provisions for visiting teams.
